Russell Viner was a founder member of AYPH and is a consultant in adolescent medicine at the Institute of Child Health and University College London. He works in the UK and internationally and is currently the President of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
Russell is widely published on adolescent health issues and has a wide range of examiner and teaching roles. He is one of the UK’s leading experts in adolescent health.
Aidan Macfarlane is an international freelance specialist in the strategic planning and delivery of maternal, child and adolescent health services. He is a paediatrician, adolescent health specialist and public health doctor. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the Faculty of Public Health.
Sir Al Aynsley-Green is as an independent consultant on children, childhood and child health. Previously he was the President of the British Medical Association. He served as first children’s commissioner for England from 2005-2010 and is professor emeritus of child health at University College London and honorary fellow of Oriel College, Oxford. He is an international authority on children’s services, child health and childhood.
Baroness Massey of Darwen is a Labour Peer and chairs the All Party Parliamentary Group on Young People’s Health. She is President of Brook, the young people’s sexual health charity, and former head of FPA (Family Planning Association).
AYPH Chair John Coleman OBE trained as a clinical psychologist. He has had many different roles in his career, most recently as a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Education, University of Oxford (2006-2015). He is currently Visiting Professor at the University of Bedfordshire. John has written widely about adolescence and was a founder member of AYPH.
