AYPH Be Healthy is a highly successful model of engaging marginalised young people in important conversations about their health and wellbeing. Using the principles of popular education, it is a truly youth-led approach that allows young people the freedom to explore health and identity on their own terms. The AYPH Be Healthy project was nominated for the UK Sexual Health Awards Young People’s Project of the Year in 2014.
AYPH is excited to now offer training on using the Be Healthy techniques to other professionals. The training is highly participatory, exploring the philosophy of popular education and the power of group work using fun and engaging activities. The approach and activities can be used with any marginalised groups that experience discrimination, stigma or reduced access to health services.
